Olga Peñacoba Almayrac

Olga Peñacoba Almayrac is a ceramist and creator of signature ceramics. She grew up in an artistic environment and from her childhood she experienced the creation of ceramics in her mother's workshop. She herself affirms that she was privileged for having been able to live that historical moment for creative ceramics in Spain. The proximity to her mother's workshop gave her the opportunity to get in touch with the creative environment, of cooperation and of opening new aesthetic, technical and exciting paths that art brings.

Olga Peñacoba's creation perfectly combines tradition and contemporary art. The tradition represented by ceramics in Spain with the elements earth and fire, the modernity of contemporary art in the creation of unique pieces and also the added value that craftsmanship brings.

Her videos approach to the artist's work. An example of this is her interviews in La Dársena Cultura en Movimiento, a YouTube channel

The artist brings the beauty of ceramics to the public in the form of performances showing her way of working.

I am very interested in putting my focus on that place in the artistic process where the vertigo of uncertainty occurs; on the one hand let the matter express itself and on the other, the work with another artist who comes from another field.

It is a mutual trust in the artistic doing in common. An "ego" that sustains itself by uniting what comes from its own metaphorical terrain and from that of the other.
